How do I clear the message «Replace Toner»?

The message «Replace Toner» is intended to alert you that thetoner cartridge has reached the end of its expected life. It is recommended that the toner cartridge be replaced.

To clear the «Replace Toner» message, install a new genuine Brother TN420 or tn450 toner cartridge. When replacing the toner cartridge, you MUST install a brand new, unused genuine Brother toner cartridge in order to reset the «Replace Toner» status. Do NOT install a previously used cartridge that was already installed into another machine or a TN starter cartridge that comes with the machine.

Refer to the following solution for toner replacement instructions — «How do I install a new toner cartridge? How do I replace the toner cartridge?»

The machine can be placed in Continue Mode. This is a temporary mode that will ensure that the current toner cartridge can continue to be used until the status changes to «Toner Ended» before you install a new toner cartridge.

Refer to the following solution for instructions to enable Continue Mode — «What is Toner Continue Mode?»

Brother strongly recommends that customers use only genuine Brother drum units and/or toner cartridges. Each Brother laser printer is designed to work at pre-set temperatures that are matched exactly to each of our individual toner formulations. Each individual component is designed to work with the other to ensure quality and reliability. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality, and machine reliability. Problems related to replacement of printer cartridge

This year I bought a Brother printer, but a month after I used the printer I encountered the replacement problem of toner cartridges.

The first question that happened to me is where is the cheapest place to buy printer ink. Then I googled it and finally found V4ink.com. I placed an order of brother tn 660 on the V4ink website. The delivery service is good so that several days later I received the product. It is the first time for me to replace printer ink. So I learned how to install printer cartridge properly online: first, your printer ink cartridges will last longer if you do not remove your cartridge from the protective wrapping until it's ready for use;

Second, the ink cartridge should be placed upright for at least 30 minutes prior to use, which will allow the ink to flow down to the print head and allow any oxygen bubbles to rise up and away from the print head;

Third, be sure you've removed the plastic strip from the ink cartridge;

Fourth, install the print cartridge;

Fifth, run the head cleaning cycle at least one time;

Sixth, print a test page to make sure the print cartridges are installed and functioning properly.

I just replaced the toner cartridge and the LCD continues to display the message «Toner Low» and the Toner LED is still flashing. Then I verify I replaced only the toner cartridge and not the drum unit since the Brother machine has separate consumables — the toner cartridge and the drum unit. When replacing the toner cartridge, I installed a brand new, unused genuine Brother toner cartridge in order to reset the toner status. Swapping toner cartridges from one machine to another or installing a partially used toner cartridge may cause this issue. Brother machines control their image quality for the most suitable print quality by monitoring toner consumption. If you install a partially used toner cartridge, your Brother machine is unable to recognise toner consumption correctly which will cause this issue. If you install a new genuine Brother toner cartridge but the «Toner Low», «Replace Toner» or «Toner Ended» error indication remains, the toner cartridge may not be installed correctly.

Reinstall the toner cartridge, referring to the instructions on how to replace the toner cartridge. That is how I solved the problem.

Using Your HP Toners to Their Full Potential

HP printers are one of the most popular printer brands in the world along Canon, Panasonic, Xerox, Brother and Epson. Hewlett Packard are also known for their laserjet printers, actually their were the one who introduced the first desktop laser printer to the world in the year 1984 and left an impact to the printing industry, giving a chance to the emergence of new laser-jet printers.

hp toner are known for their durability and efficient functionality that provides printer users with satisfaction. These cartridges contain high-quality toner mixed with polymer that delivers excellent quality of printouts. They also provide you with high-yield and low-yield cartridges. High-yield toner cartridges allow you to print in large volumes but cost more than low-yield cartridges.

Given that HP toners quality and performance are already proven by consumers, some things might intervene the performance of your HP toner cartridges that you need to avoid. Here are some tips to help you use your HP toners to their full potential:

Take Note of Your HP Toner’s Shelf Life — HP toners have an expected life of about 24 months divided between its shelf-life and installed life. The recommended shelf-life of an HP toner cartridge is about 18 months, while the remaining six months is the expected installed life of an HP toner.

Avoid heat, moisture or humidity — Never expose your HP toners to excessive heat or humidity since this could damage their components and render their toner particles unfit for laser printing. Heat can cause toner to prematurely fuse with the plastic while moisture can turn the toner particles soggy and too much exposure on light can damage the photosensitive properties of your HP toners.

Change the Cartridge DrumUnit — If your HP printer contains a separate drum, this drum needs to be replaced time to time. The average install life of an imaging drum last for three toner replacement. Most printer users make the mistake of replacing their toner cartridge instead of changing the printer’s drum unit every time the printer prints sub-par quality documents.

Never Leave them Behind — Never leave newly bought HP toners in your car, as even on cool days the temperature can exceed safe levels which may distort the plastic in the cartridge. The basement isn’t a good place either because it’s damp.

Do Not Touch the Electric Component — Refrain yourself from touching the electric components of your HP toners, doing so may damage it and affect its performance.

Just follow these tips and you’re sure to be getting the best printouts from your HP toners. But most importantly, make sure you purchase your HP toners from reliable online retailers that only provides high-quality HP toners.

What is the cleaning method of the printer?

To clean the printer, several parts of the copier need to be separated in order to carry out targeted cleaning work. Editor to detail the various parts of the copier should be how clean.

Copiers at least should be divided into three parts to clean, respectively, copier shell, copier glass panel, copier internal parts and toner cartridge. Here are the cleaning methods for each section:

Cleaning method of the copier case

The cover of the copier can be scrubbed with a semi-wet cloth. Be careful not to be too wet, the water dripping into the copier inside. If you encounter stubborn stains, you can gently wipe dipped in soapy water until the removal of stains so far, and then we have to use a cotton cloth dipped in water wipe several times, and finally dry with a dry cloth to complete the cleaning work. The most important thing to remember about cleaning a copier is cleaning it regularly to keep it clean.

Cleaning method of glass panel for copier
When cleaning the platen glass, avoid wiping with organic solvents. Because the platen glass is coated with a light-transmissive coating and a conductive coating, these coatings do not dissolve in water and are soluble in organic materials, so we do not use solvents such as alcohol to clean them. When using it, please avoid touching the table glass by hand. If there is binding, please remove the pins, paper clips and staples on the original and put it in the specified position. After the altered originals must wait until the correction fluid dry after copying.

Cleaning of internal parts of copier

We clean the internal parts of the copier to pay attention when wearing masks, so as not to smoke, such as dust. The most common part to remember is the fuser roller. Under normal circumstances I still suggest that if the dirty is directly replaced, because it is very difficult to clean up the printer toner on the stick. But if you can not find the replacement, you can try the day with water or gasoline bubble for a while, then wipe scrubbing, generally can remove the dust. In the removal of waste ink tube when you have to be careful to prevent the toner is filled in the air too much by the body inhalation.

Color drum common bad printing phenomenon and causes

The following defect analysis is only for the toner cartridge, the production of some defects related to the machine, where omitted.

1) seal pull no: usually caused by poor assembly, seals a card or folded portions nipped toner.

2) powder leakage: In addition to bad seals seal before printing powder leakage caused by external and internal cartridge more components or parts during use may cause leakage of powder, magnetic roller felt seal defects, aging flour knife, seal roller blade deformation and Paste Not tightly loose, sealing sponge defects or aging, cleaning the blade deformation and paste loose loose and so will cause leakage powder.

3) not print either a full version or white light and vague;

● The seal is not opened.

● The toner cartridge does not shake before the seal, the powder is not smooth.

● The laser is not illuminated on the drum, the light shield is not open, and the drum protective cover is not open.

● Drum grounding is not connected, the drum conductive film or powder box on the machine connected to the electrical contact is bad.

4) Paper is usually black electrical problem:

● The charging roller is missing or defective.

● The charging roller is deformed or poorly connected.

5) Vertical black line: refers to any unwanted vertical lines from top to bottom, the thick line or wire may be continuous or the intermittent. The thin, light-colored vertical black line is generally a cleaning scraper gap or a circle of scratches on the drum. Thick and intermittent black line, and the edge is not clear, often sealed seal blade Zou or a knife caused by aging.

6) thin vertical white line on the blackboard: the depth of the wear line of the photosensitive drum with the magnetic roller magnetic roller coating or impurity caused by wear line.

7) levels were missing: finger prints on the lateral intermittent not print, because:

● Drum coating local exposure;

● Drum drive gear defects, loose or gear defect.

● magnetic roller coating defects;

● core fracture or positioning error;

● The magnetic roller sheath is badly worn or deformed.

● The magnetic roller conductive spring is in poor contact or beating.

8) horizontal black line: general electrical problem, periodically horizontal black line is often coupled with the charging roller coating defects caused by pinholes on the photosensitive drum coating; irregular horizontal black line is often thin bunker and waste toner binding Not in place caused.

9) periodically illegible: often the focus of the drum or cause pollution roll coating, watermarking, mimeograph, fingerprints, scratch marks often cited this defect.

10) bunches: a defect like money appear superimposed on the printed product, no rules, and difficult to repeat, drum caused by poor grounding.

11) Backscatter: refers to the surrounding text or lines do not need to have black specks, roller coating or toner by the magnetic drum overheating caused by poor (finger sensation and high) can also cause this defect.

12) Corrugated background (tiger grouper): black wavy white version appears on or in the form of white on black version or halftone version; usually a magnetic roller sleeve or coating defects due to normal low density printing, toner Bonding in the magnetic roller caused.

13) hollow words: Strokes text refers to the lack of the image on the lake, for the following reasons:

● toner itself.

● drum, powder with poor. Magnetic roller coating problem.

● The surface of the print media is too light and too strong.

● The paper uses the reverse side.

14) vertical black spots rules:

● by the sealing blade deformed or loose powder caused by scattered.

● As the powder knife aging or deformation, excessive accumulation of carbon in the drum roller, causing leakage powder.

15) Light color: with a variety of factors:

● Toner itself is a problem.

● Toner, magnetic roller with the problem.

● The aging of the knife.

● Magnetic roller wear.

● The life of the photoconductor drum.

● High humidity or moisture absorption.

16) bottom ash: bottom ash toner mist refers to a blank area of prints appear, but also with a variety of factors:

● Scraper aging loose.

● The charging roller is dirty.

● Toner problem.

● The environment is cold and dry.

● The print media is defective.

● Charging roller wear.

● fixing is not strong: refers to the print on the text or image that is to go.

● The toner softening point is higher than the fixing temperature of the machine.

● The print media is too thick or the surface is too light.
